Prep Softball: San Marcos Beats Pacifica 18-1; Amarisse Camargo Hits Grand Slam to Pace Carpinteria 17-2 Win

The San Marcos girls scored six runs in the top of the first inning on the way to an 18-1 Channel League win over Pacifica.
The game started with a leadoff double by Emma Foster, who then scored on a wild pitch. The Royals added another double by Kamilah Morales, a Kate Guerra single, three walks and a hit batter before the inning was over.
San Marcos added five runs in the third, one in the fourth and six in the fifth inning, totaling 15 hits.
On the mound, Guerra and Vienna Mochi combined for a four-hitter with four strikeouts for the Royals.
Foster was 4-for-5 on the day with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI. Gigi Gritt and Morales were both 2-for-2, each with a double. Guerra was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Kayla Aguilar was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI.
The big win improves the Royals to 4-5 in league play and 8-8 overall. They play Chaminade and Atascadero in the Best of the West tournament in Santa Maria Thursday.
