Prep Softball Roundup: Lucy Dessert, Big Swings Power San Marcos to 9-1 Win Over Pacifica

San Marcos softball earned a 9-1 Channel League victory over Pacifica at home on Tuesday.
The Royals got a strong outing from Lucy Dessert, who tossed all seven innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits while striking out nine.
Meanwhile, the San Marcos offense managed a pair of runs in the first three frames but exploded for seven runs across the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull away for the win.
Solana Sandoval, Tiana Monaghan and Charlotte Hastings all roped home runs in the victory.
Sandoval paced the offense with three hits, Monaghan led the way with four RBIs and Hastings had a pair of hits on the day. Gianna Mandarino and Jessica Vega scored two runs apiece.
The Royals (9-4, 4-3 Channel League) will hit the road to take on Pacifica on Friday.
