Prep Softball Roundup: San Marcos, Dos Pueblos Begin Channel League Play with Big Wins

San Marcos softball kicked off Channel League action with a 14-2 mercy-rule win over Ventura on the road on Tuesday.
Charlotte Hastings led the potent offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored.
Kamilah Morales and Caitlyn Early each tallied a pair of hits, Morales drove in a pair and scored twice and Early scored three runs.
Also driving in runs for the Royals were Gianna Mandarino, Solana Sandoval, Jessica Vega and Emma Foster.
Lucy Dessert was solid in the circle in her first league start, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three in four innings of work.
Following Dessert, Kate Guerra pitched the final inning on her 17th birthday.
