Dos Pueblos Softball Opens Playoffs at Home; San Marcos Travels to No. 1 Moorpark

Dos Pueblos received a first-round home game while San Marcos got a tough draw in the CIF-SS Division 4 softball playoff pairings.
The Channel League-champion Chargers (21-5) will host Lancaster (14-7, Golden League No. 3) in a first-round game on Thursday, May 5.
San Marcos (14-14, Channel No. 3), meanwhile, opens the playoffs at top-seeded Moorpark (19-4) on Thursday. The Musketeers finished in a tie for second place with Royal in the Coastal Canyon League. The league champion was Division 1 Camarillo.
Also in Division 4, Lompoc (21-7, Channel No. 2) will play at Garden Grove-Santiago (12-7 Garden Grove No. 1) in a first-round game.
San Marcos and Lompoc tied for second place in the Channel League at 11-4, but Lompoc won two of three from the Royals to receive the league’s No. 2 playoff designation.
The second round is on May 10.
